9:45 AM start time for my first match. I had a good week of practice and weight is right on target. Even my arm feels great, yay. Lol.

It seems like I have been in "deload mode" these last two weeks and I'm allowing it. I have a better handle on my nutrition and the scale says that I'm losing weight so I'm happy about that. Hopefully it's not just losing muscle. Lol.
My gardens are all mulched and everything looks happy. I hope that the excavator will be able to start carving out our new lot next week. I'm anxious to get to work!
I hope you will all have a wonderful weekend.

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

I'm evidently at a plateau. My weight has been wandering up or down 2 pounds.

Still working the plan. I will get there.

Absolutely. Plateus are normal and seem to be part of the process. I went upwards then plateaued all summer and now it's starting to go down.
    Keep sticking with the plan.

Oh man! I got a 12 yard dump truck delivery of mulch and am on a mission to fully fill the pond area. Here I thought I was done mulching for the year. I got over 20,000 steps and am thinking of starting the strength training again next week.
I'm focusing on nutrition and keeping a caloric deficit so we will see if I have the energy to do more workouts.
    This week I read:
    • Night Road by Kristin Hannah- I gave this one a 5 star rating. It's fiction, contemporary chick-lit and was really sad and good. Kristin Hannah reminds me of Liane Moriarty with a lot more depth and she also writes excellent Historical Fiction AND she's a Pacific Northwest based Author.
    • The Amish Wife by Gregg Olsen- I appreciate the effort he put into this book. It definitely took a lot of legwork to do all of those interviews and follow up years later, but I didn't really like it.
In the fall I love reading series', horror, and romance. Weird combination, right?... and Historical Fiction is an ongoing must.
    I'm currently reading:
    • It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover- It's contemporary romance and it's so good. Can't wait to find out what happens next! Here's the description: Sometimes it is the one who loves you who hurts you the most.

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up — she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan — her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.
I'm SO happy that I finally got my reading momentum back. I lost it over the summer, but now I'm spending afternoons reading and hours reading until I fall asleep. This year I've read 87/124 books. I'm about 9 books behind "schedule," but maybe I can still pull it off! We shall see.

What are you currently reading or listening to?

2 and 0 with two Americanas. I posted that submission here once I believe. Yes I would have liked a different one mixed in but, you have to take what’s given. Our club had a good turnout overall, saw arguably the best MMA fighter ever coaching as well. IMG_2940. Demetrius Johnson.

6 whole months? That seems like a long stretch. You'll definitely be ready by then. How many years have you been at it now?

I spent all day mulching and building planters for more squash seedlings. An Io (Hawaiian Hawke was perched right over me.) I'm glad my favorite chickens survived. Today we started breaking ground on the new lot! I'm so excited. I think we're going to build a geodesic dome on a post and pier platform.
No strength training with dumbbells, but my biceps are sore from farm carry style work around the yard.

I’m starting my 3rd year, Jiu Jitsu. 3 or so Judo. This morning I got 2 stripes on my blue belt. It’s meaningless but means a lot. Lol. IMG_2973.

The lot clearing is complete and now we can start building! I'm so excited.
Last night, I didn't feel like working out, but I did a leg workout and 2 dance classes. After that I felt great!
After dinner I'm going to do another workout this evening. Probably upper body.
Hope you will have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you. Here’s some feedback from my buddy watching last Saturday. “Once I saw you on top I knew you’d take his soul!” Lol. (Not trying to sound boastful) It’s my game most likely because I’m not the most talented nor flexible. I also forget a lot in the fight. (Drives me crazy!) Goals now are developing 3 solid takedowns, two solid leg locks and work from what we call “the guard.” Basically on your back where there are dozens of submissions.

Yesterday morning I did an upper body and abs workout. Today is rest day and I'm catching up on laundry and household chores.
We decided on a cement foundation and I'm taking a permaculture course (since I'm bored and need something to concentrate on). I want to design my landscaping for this new lot based on what I learn. I've learned some basics and techniques in the past, but I'm enjoying the structured course. There's always something to learn!

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

I've been fixing an old abandoned truck with funky gas and all the associated garbage related to it. The Chevy LS1 engine is sweet in the support available for a guy who last worked on carb powered 283 with a 2 speed Powerglide-equiped cars. Damn I am old.

I've also troubleshooting some timing issue on my rebuilt subaru boxer engine. Two guys on YouTube have failed me so far but hey, when I figure this out I am going to build a time machine and go back to 1980.

Without the weight loss and no small inspiration from this thread, I would not be so diligent in my health goals nor so optimistic in attacking things I don't know shit about.

    Thank you.

That's the coolest feedback I've ever heard and it's well-deserved! We love bragging and boasting here so I'm glad you shared it because it's fun and exciting to hear about these kinds of wins. I think it's your outstanding discipline and work ethic. Also the way that you set goals throughout the year then stick with the plan. Setbacks happen, but you keep going.
    You're an inspiration!

It's so awesome that you're working on these car projects. I have so much respect for anyone who does this because it requires a lot of patience, wrench turning, trouble shooting, and elbow grease. Keep us updated!
I'm so glad that you're here! It keeps me motivated to see updates and this thread has helped me so much too!
