    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

It's a rough ass week on day one with no chance of clearing weather at work. It's a life and most aren't so tough. That's a blessing.

I get rid of a super toxic and downright evil work person I have been stuck with in my life on Friday. That will be a huge blessing and I can only be glad for that.

Thank you! It has taken awhile for me to get here, but I'm so glad that it's possible to make progress like this and I'm looking forward to a healthy future.

It's already Wednesday and I haven't done any strength training yet, but I have been reaching my step goal of getting more than 22,000 steps each day. I'm giving myself some grace and am going to try not to smother on the guilt.
    I'm currently reading:
    • "The Well-Lived Life: A 102-Year-Old Doctor's Six Secrets to Health and Happiness at Every Age" by Dr. Gladys McGarey Dr. Gladys McGarey, the centenarian mother of holistic medicine, reveals “a story that teaches as much as it inspires” (Edith Eger, New York Times bestselling author), filled with life-changing secrets for how to live with joy, vitality, and purpose at any age.

Dr. Gladys McGarey, cofounder of the American Holistic Medical Association, began her medical practice at a time when women couldn’t even have their own bank accounts. Over the past sixty years, she has pioneered a new way of thinking about disease and health that has transformed the way we imagine health care and self-care around the world.
    • "The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window and Disappeared" by Jonas Jonasson After a long and eventful life, Allan Karlsson ends up in a nursing home, believing it to be his last stop. The only problem is that he’s still in good health. A big celebration is in the works for his 100th birthday, but Allan really isn’t interested (and he’d like a bit more control over his alcohol consumption), so he decides to escape. He climbs out the window in his slippers and embarks on a hilarious and entirely unexpected journey. It would be the adventure of a lifetime for anyone else, but Allan has a larger-than-life backstory: he has not only witnessed some of the most important events of the 20th century, but actually played a key role in them. Quirky and utterly unique, The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared has charmed readers across the world.
There's a theme here, isn't there? It looks like I'm reading about those who have lived long lives. So far I've read 6/125 books! What are you currently reading or listening to?

Still working the course I'm taking about C.S. Lewis. I'm reading some of his writings. Amazing perception of a layman about the process of going from an athiest to a Christian.

I'm struggling through some post apocalyptic box set and I've reached the point I kinda hope they all die miserably. Only 3 hours of 35 left.....

Work can be tough, but clearing out the negative energy on Friday will definitely be a huge relief.

I'm getting my daily steps in and it feels really good.
Now, I need to work on my sleep schedule. I started meditating before bed which has been really nice, but I'm still staying up late (sometimes until 3 am) to read.

110 pounds down so far. I'm still working the plan.

I spend an hour working a kettlebell every evening. Stretching in the morning and meditation in the evening.

I spend an hour in the sauna daily.

Well done! It's all paying off.
I've been thinking of using a kettlebell more often. I signed up for the Lebe Stark online kettlebell trial, but then they were using 2 kettlebells and I gave up. Lol. I'll probably try to learn moves with one first.

I'm seriously considering your jiu-jitsu stuff when I get fit enough.

I've got boxing and Tae Kwan do experience for striking, but grappling and ground skills are the fighting-under-a-urinal-for-your-life-biting-and-punching or raw-bone ranch-hands-settling-disputes kind.

I have a lot to learn with hands and legs when blades and guns aren't appropriate for the situation.

Today was exciting because I think I can do pistol squats now. In the past I always collapsed or couldn't stand all the way back up, but I tried it today and I think I'm doing it.

I know the form and technique needs a lot of work and practice, but what do you think? Does this look right?

A few years ago I couldn't even get up from the ground without using my hands for assistance (just from sitting on the floor.) My joints were very stiff and I didn't have the mobility so it's really exciting to see and feel the ways that I'm progressing. I also had an audience. This is a little wild piglet that we call "the pork." She follows me around everywhere and I think she's on her way to being tame. She'll eat out of my hand and let's me pet her sometimes.

This looks brutal! I have to say that I wouldn't want to train with another beginner because beginners can do some damage on accident. I would need an experienced person who can be gentle. Thanks for sharing this link.

This week is off to a great start! I got over 30,000 steps today and decided to start this other program. I know it's not great that I abandoned last week's program, but I prefer this trainer's style. There are a total of 90 workouts and today was Day #1/90. Hope you will all have a wonderful week!

YW. Because I’m familiar with this one I was showing some higher belts my technique using only one arm. There’s very little strength required but what if you additionally squeeze squeeze?! It’s straight-up nasty and a great one for self-defense.

Hey! I made it back for Day #2/90! This one was an intense cardio and core workout. I like that it didn't require equipment, but those tuck jumps are brutal.

I also got my steps in too!

Day #3/90 was a challenging leg workout. I had an ashiatsu massage and got all my steps in too.

We had high winds all day and a power outage so I thought it would be unlikely that I'd do the planned workout. I also had a feeling that I might not reach my step goal because high winds in this area mean that there are a lot of fallen and broken trees. I stayed indoors and still managed to get my steps. I had to battle it out in my head and defeat the weaker side of me that just wanted to quit...
    It was definitely worth-it!
