Easy enough for those of us who live in the temperate zones, so anybody do a winter garden and if not how are you laying up your garden for winter?

I have radish and lettuces until the frost hits, then I plan to cover the beds for winter and hope the herbs winter through. I am expecting snow this winter, as last winter was unusually warm.
