What is the sketchiest thing you have ever gotten away with eating?

Being a sophisticated gentleman from the Acadian parish's I can say I only eat store brand meats and vegetables, none of that eating stuff on the wild side for me!
I did hear once that bobcat was a okay.
Some of you gents are border-line heathens of the cuisine world!
That's why we love yall.

 

i had rattle snake a few times, each event was different.
It largely depends on what the critter eats.. that's all critters.

 

As a 69 year old Floridian, the only time I ever ate gator was once in 2007 when I rode my KLR-650 motorcycle up to North Carolina for a camp/meet. We ate at a restaurant, and gator meat was on the menu. Never tried snake, of any species.

 

I had some moose tongue in Norway,
ate snails at a local friend's house in Okinawa, I've been food poisoned all over the world, and somehow I've survived eating everything I've put on the grill. But the sketchiest and most memorable thing I've ever eaten, or tried to eat, was skunk cabbage. This was back around 1970, when Euell Gibbons was asking people if they ever ate a pine tree.

I apparently missed the multiple water changes part in whatever wild food article I had read. I don't remember if I even ever tried to eat any of the roots. Just gathering and boiling them releases gasses that burned the lungs and made us miserable for hours.
