IMG_1014. This is what is called the north/south position. The end was near for this fella, his one arm trapped up high and soon my right hand slithered through making a connection with my other hand. Game over!

Pressure and disrupting breathing is pretty much Jiu Jitsu 101. Lol. Usually I have a forehead in the fella too, ouch! Lol.

    Happy New Year Everyone!

I'm staying active and enjoying 2026 so far. How about you? I'm on week #7/12 of my current training program and am feeling strong and injury free. I still have that lower back ache, but I'm not counting that as an injury because I don't have to modify around it and it's getting better.

This is one of my movement highlights from 2025. I got to stay right on the lake for over 2 weeks. The water was so clear and I was dangerously close to going for a swim, but I don't trust residential lakes and prefer the ocean. Also it was winter time in that region of the world.

What are you looking forward to in this new year?

I did my total body workout today and felt strong! I have been tracking my macros on my fitness pal and I think I discovered that the culprit is my fat consumption. Protein has been on point most days and carbs are appropriate for my activity levels, but fat is way too high. I'm not currently on keto or low carb so I'm going to try to get this under control.
Hope you are all having a wonderful week!

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

I just got my hernia fixed yesterday and am sore as heck today.

But that opens the door to really getting back into shape

    Happy Monday!

It is now week #8/12 which is also the end of phase 2 in this program that I'm working through. I've been feeling so good and pain free lately, that I think I got a bit cocky. Yesterday I did 50 minutes of restorative yoga which is literally the chillest form that you can possibly do. It feels like "sleeping with instructions" because you rest in poses for 5-10 minutes. This particular class was supposed to be for a tight back. Immediately after I finished the class, my back started hurting again and it was so uncomfortable every time I tried to bend over. Not sure if it's the yoga or pitchforking mulch over my potato garden. Most likely it's the latter, also, I've been dancing a lot and have been very active, but also tired.

Right now, walking lunges, hamstring curls, and rows (and everything else) are the opposite of what I feel like doing. Motivation is non-existent, but I'm going to get a really good warm up, modify as much as necessary and do the best that I can with today's workout.

How are you moving this week?

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

    Very very slowly

I picked up some BPC-157 peptides that are supposed to help with the post-surgical healing. I'm getting better pretty quickly but I usually heal well. I am also loading up 15mg/day with creatine to slow decline and maybe even help build some healing juju.

I am averaging about 5k steps a day shuffling around.

There's no need to rush healing especially after a surgery like this. I'm glad that you are well-equipped to support this process. Hope you are feeling a little better every day.

I'm very thankful that after an epsom salt bath last night, I'm feeling a lot better and my back isn't bothering me anymore. I wasn't expecting to recover this quickly and it is a "luxury" that I won't take for granted.
Also very thankful that today is more of a rest day. I did my core work and my dancing and am currently at 15,000 steps.

My workouts are going well. I'm on week #9/12 and am feeling strong. The format has switched to 5x5 which means I'm supposed to lift heavier weights.
It's still tricky for me to bring my fat consumption down. I think it must be a side effect of being keto for so long.
Hope you are all having a wonderful week!
