I'm still here! This week will wrap up week #6/12 and next week I start phase 2 of training. I am loving this strength building phase, but when I took my measurements I saw that I have gained 10 lbs since February. Yikes! My waist and hip measurements are maintaining. All around I'm maintaining, but I did gain an inch (of muscle) in my lower body.) Luckily, that reflects my training. I'm hoping that this weight gain is mostly muscle. Lol.

This week they posted about my daily dance practice on one of the dance platforms that I belong too. It was nice. Yesterday was my 100th day of daily dancing, yoga, and writing.

Ironically enough, I've been hitting up my local Chinese place for shrimp lo-mien twice a week now. [woot]
I always get a shrimp roll with it, too. And I'm sure they aren't frying them in beef tallow.

That’s an option too. The idea is at the end of shift you still have your job and your life.

That's really funny and sounds delicious! Shrimp is a good low-fat option.

I was not feeling good today even though nothing was wrong and it was a decent and productive day. I'm going to blame withdrawals from having less convenience food and snacks. Hopefully it will get better from here.

It did get better from there and I'm having a solid week of training. I'm happy to see that dips have returned to the menu. I was starting to worry about the backs of my arms. Lol.

I had my first appointment for my hip. There’s a tad bit of arthritis on that side and something called “hip impingement syndrome.” I’m doing PT on Friday’s and a home routine with my roommate. She seems to enjoy my agony a bit, lol. They also have me on some anti-inflammatory meds that helped right away. Yippee!! I’d say it’s about 25 percent better in a little over a week.

I'm so glad that you have an action plan for healing your hip. It sounds painful, but it's great that you're doing PT and your roommate can keep you accountable. Keep us updated! 25% improvement is major!

This is week #9/12 and by Friday of last week I was on the edge of burnout... It started wondering what's the point and why try so that was my sign to relax more over the weekend.

I'm glad it worked and today I feel ready to go again!

What are your plans for this upcoming week?

It's hard to workout with so little motivation, but I got it done! Over 13,000 steps today too.

Nicely done. I’ve never counted steps but that seems like a lot. I’m now 3 weeks into my treatment for my hip and I’m estimating, 50 percent healed!!! I’m super happy that there is hope on the horizon to be pain free. I’m teaching class for a week while my coach is in Hawaii. Maybe I’ll post a pic.

Thanks! I have the Google fitness app on my phone and it counts my daily steps. Since I'm such a stats girl, it's kind of addicting to see how many steps I can get per day, per week, per month. Lol. It's amazing that you're 50% healed and can feel the results of your efforts. I've been worried about you and this injury and hope you'll be pain free soon. Hawaii is a nice place to be and your coach is so lucky that you're covering for him. Have fun teaching!

I did my total body workout today and am so happy to be injury free at the moment. This afternoon I went out to my happy place: the garden and harvested over 30 trombocino squashes! I should've gotten a lot more, but some wild pigs broke into my fence. One morning I had pig shaped holes in the hog wire. They will literally test the entire perimeter and bend the metal. Killed about 20 pigs on the property in the last week. They are relentless.

Last week I harvested over 100 potatoes. It feels so good to grow my own food.

Anyone else get super excited when a new month begins? New month new goals! Lol. It never gets old.
What are you looking forward to this month?

I’ll be teaching all this week so that’s one highlight for sure. My PT is going well but I’m supposed to rest too, oops. I’m mixing in 2 rest days per week instead of my current routine. (Impatient, lol.) Dudes never mention mental health because we’re dudes but, I’ve never felt better upstairs. Hopefully I didn’t just curse myself. Lol.
