Whats my location show up as?

    Can the mods or anyone tell me where the internet thinks my physical location is?
    (Hint: it wont be what my signature says)

    Yes, btpost can pinpoint an IP address, without fail. I've seen it done. I would not suggest making a challenge. There are some very talented folks here.

    No, at least not using the SM software tools. Your IP is available for checking for the first few posts in case we need to pin down a spammer or other offensive internet troll. After that, the software blocks (and deletes from the database) IP addresses to maintain member security. IP addresses themselves don't tell very much, either. Mine is quite distant from my physical location.
    That said, finding someone isn't too difficult using tools outside the site software.

    Grit is correct... MODs do NOT have the ability to look at any Monkey's IP Address, after the first few posts.... This is a change, that was implemented after some discussions about Privacy....

    My IP (static address issued through my provider) shows I am in Phnom Penh. But, I actually live in Battambang, Cambodia.

    Yeah mine show I am in Tombstone AZ... I didn't know there was internet in Tombstone?
