We all pretty much agree that the media is biased one way or another in their presentation of information so I'm just curious where most of you get the facts on which you base your opinions? I try to read several newspapers a day but it's very time consuming to try to filter biased "news" from an unadulterated report of the facts.
Usually at least once a day I look through both Fox News and CNN and try to decide what is b.s. and what isn't. I also read the headlines at Drudgereport. To be honest though I am more interested in my local news. I don't really care what happened in "Timbuktoo", but I am concerned with what happens down the street.
I take every printed and broadcast word with a grain (sometimes a pound) of salt. I truely have my doubts that any journalism is uncolored in some fashion by editorial license. Seems that that license is to distort, if not out lie. Every reporter, no matter how honest, reports from the angle of his own prejudices, it is human nature and no escape. But I'm turning into a news junky, continuously looking for something that does not have an aura of essence of woods pussy about it.
While still biased, I tend to look at BBC and other sources out of the US for a little less spoon fed version. I also visit much internet news sits on both sides of the isle. I do not read a newspaper and we have dropped our subscription. I do catch a little bit of CNN/FOX in the evening and then flip to Bloomberg for a market wrap. I fill in the rest with gossip, hype and outright bullsh*t just to keep it interesting
I tend to watch the news and financial sites, sprinkle in a few forums and blogs... Bloomberg, Reuters, Foreign press.... then sort it out and figure what makes sense to me... sort of like connecting the dots.... hard to believe anything these days....
I get all my knews that is necessary to have from Playboy magazine. There is simply no other reason to get that magazine but for the articles. I mean...who really cares what's going on in the world when there is good commentary analysis in the articles.
Unfortunately, Playgirl never attained the high intellectual standard set by Hugh and lacks the editorial staff necessary to provide provocative commentary. Also unfortunate is that I have gotten sideway glances from store clerks when I have bought Playboy for the articles.
