While all Eyes were on Boston.....

Someone poached a California electrical power substation.

Bullet holes riddle key California power substation causing heavy damage — 10,000 gallon oil spill — Statewide Emergency Alert to conserve energy — 911 calls not working nearby

This is what you can expect when we have a financial meltdown and a govt grab for power.
Lone or small groups can and will bring the grid down.

Our infrastructure is incredibly fragile and susceptible to sabotage. It's just the way it is and there is little we can do to stop it.

There are so many weak spots in the infrastructure as @fmhuff said. It is really up to the citizens at large to be alert and pay attention, report what they saw and be vigilant. There is a lot going on lately, and I believe it will continue to grow with the lack of community participation in their safety at large.......

Its actually not hard to avoid sabotage if you take it to a personal level. Its when you rely on the support of Uncle Sam as your guardian that you are vulnerable to these kinds of things. If everyone had their own solar panels or wind turbines and relied on themselves they would be much better off and immune to the fear mongering. The basic rule is that if you can't do it yourself then you are vulnerable to attack. If you are a child of the state then you are vulnerable.
