The move came less than two weeks after Obama exercised a waiver of a law that would halt all assistance to Egypt until it honored human rights, democratic reforms and pledges for security cooperation. “Egypt has been an important ally of the United States and has played a significant role in the region,” White House press secretary Jay Carney said. In a briefing on April 5, Carney confirmed that the administration relayed $1.3 billion in U.S. military aid and $200 million in civilian assistance in one transfer. The spokesman did not explain why the White House ignored calls by Congress to stagger the aid in at least three payments. The briefing followed the first formal meetings between the White House and leaders of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, which now dominates the new parliament. Carney said the United States would work with the Brotherhood to encourage democracy in Egypt after the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak in 2011. Uh huh, and our wonderful peaceful friend Israel has recieved $115 billion in US taxpayer dollars since WWII while itself being the most belligerent state in the Middle East. $3.1 billion in foreign military financing, another $15 million for refugee resettlement, and $99.8 million for joint US-Israeli missile defense development. Meanwhile the IDF continues to use Palestinian children as human shields, continues to possess nuclear weapons while refusing to sign international treaties and subscribing to nuclear doctrine known as the "Samson Option"... not to mention HR 4133 which places US troops in harms way to defend an "ally" that actually despises us. Course then again the Taliban and bin Laden were also once US allies so I'm sure sooner or later my ignorant fellow Americans will wake up and realize the mistake the made... probably in time to say a final prayer before Israel causes an end of the world catastrophe.

Quit reading propaganda. The IDF doesn't use palestinian children as shields, palestinians do that. How is HR 4133 Israel's fault? If you would take the time to read some history, it might make sense to you that Israel is a bit wary of us as an ally. Seriously, would you trust the U.S. right now? How do you figure Israel is the most belligerent state in the M.E.? That's a pretty big claim if you actually think about the nations that comprise the M.E.
