Bought my first pair of Whites, custom made right from the factory (30 miles from here) for $98. Sounds good, but that was a ton of money back then. Best boots I have ever had.

One of the few Boot Companies that comply with NFPA Regs.
You get what you pay for.
My Dad brought his first set back from IDAHO when they where issued to him as a Wildland Fire Fighter when he was in the Triple Cs.
He wore the Farm and Ranch model the rest of his life

No doubt that boot, in its highest form is unbeatable.

White's Boot Company (under White's, Hathorn Hi-Line, and Hathorn Labels) is proud to offer you a product that has been certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) to comply with the requirements of the NFPA 1977-2011 31DR, STANDARD ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT FOR WILDLAND FIRE FIGHTING, 2011 EDITION. While we are confident that your boots will serve you well in the field, there are some safety issues you should be aware of in order for you to get the full benefits of your new boots. Although your boots have been subjected to rigorous testing’s in a laboratory setting, most performance properties of the element cannot be tested by the user in the field. For this reason, it is important to follow the manufacturer's recommendations outlined below to ensure your safety and comfort.

    Limitations of Use-
Do not use the protective footwear alone for wildland fire fighting operation; other protective equipment- helmet, gloves, protective garments, fire shelter- is required for protection. This footwear alone may not provide protection for proximity of fire entry situations or protection from chemical, radiological, or biological agents. Users must clean, maintain, and alter only in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. No protective footwear can provide complete protection for all conditions; use extreme care for all emergency operations. Failure to comply with these warnings may results in serious injury or death.

    Modifications-
Please note that any modifying, changing, adding to, marking, painting, or altering your boots in any way may affect its protective qualities and increase your risk of death, burns, injuries, diseases, and illnesses. Do not modify, change, mark, paint or alter your boots without the manufacturer’s written authorization.

    Proper Use-
Proper use consistent with NFPA 1500, Standard on Fire Department Occupational Safety and Health Programs, and Title 29, Code of Federal Regulations, part 1910.132, Personal Protective Equipment.

    Proper Fit-
Boots sold through our retail store and order department are guaranteed by White's Boots Company to fit. If you purchased your boots form one of our authorized dealers, the dealer is responsible for the fitting. Please notify the sales representative if you have intentions of using any non-standard accessories, such as an additional insole, so that sizing adjustments can be made.

    Warranty -
White's provides a one-year warranty against defects in craftsmanship and materials. The life expectancy of your boots is determined by many environmental factors, such as heat or cold, and wet or dry conditions. Also, the compounds your boots will be subjected to, such as rocks, gravel, mud, concrete, and chemicals, have an impact on the longevity of your boots. Finally the frequency of care and routine maintenance your boots receive will also determine how long you will be serviceable. It is recommended that before you store boots, you should first thoroughly clean and condition the leather and keep them out of direct sunlight and away from dogs. Please refer to Boot Care for proper instructions. After footwear s no longer serviceable and can no longer be rebuilt proper disposal in a trash receptacle is advised.

    Proper Wear-
When donning your boots, the gusset should be folded over the front to provide and extra layer of protection between the front of the leg and the laces. The laces should then be pulled snug to prevent and slippage inside the boot. In addition, please note that is it a mandatory to cover any openings between the boot and the pant portion to ensure seamless protection when you are in service for wild land fire fighting. Please consult your department’s guidelines for any other donning and doffing suggestions.

    Periodic Inspections-

It is the manufacturer's further recommendation that you inspect your boots a minimum of once every month, looking for and changes in its condition that may affect its status as a NFPA approved pair of boots. Conditions such as worn out soles and heels, worn stitching which may cause seam failure, missing labels, worn hooks or eyelets, cuts in the upper which expose the foot, can all adversely affect the performance and safety of the boot. If any of these conditions are found, prompt repairs must be made by the manufacturer in order to maintain the UL certification of being NFPA complaint.

    Decontamination Process-

If your boots are subjected to exposure of carcinogens or toxic substances, it is recommended that your boots go through a decontamination procedure before doffing. This procedure should consist of a minimum of scrubbing with water and brush before you began the doffing procedure and a second scrubbing after the boots are removed. Boots, which have not been thoroughly cleaned are dried, should not be worn. The only approved drying methods are ambient air drying, of a forced ventilation type shoe dryer such as Peet Shoe Dryer. All company policies on proper decontamination procedures and guidelines should be followed in order to avoid contact with harmful substances.
White's Boots is honored to complete your PPE ensemble, and look forward to boots providing you with many years of safe service.
