yeah my help desk folks are really enjoying working with 600 dealers who's machines have automagically updated to win10.
I solved one problem and got windows 10 for free. I have 7 on one hard drive and 10 on another. I can use either or . The ten is blazing fast as that hard drive has very little else on it. I wont be able to do that on this lap top but for now we have both 7 and 10 separated on one computer. The shop who installed it is pretty good. I also have the tracking disabled software so they cant use or collect my info.

SO.............how can I un install win 10? I still have my Win 7 pro OS disk, should I just do a full wipe and start over? I also see an option to do a System restore that basically does this ( If I am understanding this correctly) I know I will loose all my files and saved data, so I would have to move these to a storage drive and then unplug the drive to reboot the OS drive ( Yes?)
PCs that went from 7 to 10 have 30 days to roll back, otherwise you have to reinstall. Are you within the 30 day limit? Should you opt to reinstall all data on the boot drive will be lost, run backups first.
I am well past the 30 days! Ok......So with a storage drive, I can "move" files and games to that, power down completely, and then un plug that drive and re boot the OS drive?
yep run backups to multiple drives if you have them, unplug the data drive, boot a Linux or w 7 disk verify you have the right drive then install from scratch on the boot drive.
Roger that! Will do and all should be as it was, blissfully before win10! Thanks a bunch! I am backing files to storage drive as well as my lap top so all should be good to go!
the more backups the better after you reinstall 7 you will have to install the old apps and games all over again Should you opt to install Linux now is a perfect time to do it, partition the drive, install 7 first, then Linux What size is your boot drive?
So far for us windows 10 is real good, very fast and easy to use. But you have to remove 7 before installing it.
Yes definitely verify. After having installed winblows many many times over the past 25 years and knowing better, I made the mistake of letting an install go ahead on my last gaming box with a RAID controller on the motherboard that winblows didn't recognize. Which ones does it recognize... Can't think of any. So long story short, it installed over my 11+GB music archive plugged into a sata port. Doh! And who didn't have a mirror of that archive? This guy... Verify. You will thank me and yourself.
@Mountainman perhaps, however they keep re-issuing the bad updates under new KB numbers so it is hard to keep up with them
Any updates on the real bad ones would be appreciated. Use Linux mainly but still have a W7 laptop and a Vista desktop. Will never surrender to W10, Gates can .
