ya should backup all yer data a few times over .. after that ya might have to reinstall .. or upgrade to Linux what is this PC used for?
I had my hard drive replaced about a year ago and requested windows 7 be installed on the new HD every since then I get this message every so often.
Do not patch or upgrade your OS or any other software via any pop up. Do it through their website only and do some research to make sure you don't add any patches you don't want (like the ones that let Microsoft spy on you more than they already do).
I still have windows 1 on two floppies with MS DOS executive... golly now it is a software down load in excess of 20 GB... by golly the programming has gotten sloppy... why I remember when I was programing in COBOL....
