I need to add some security, ie. firewall other than my McAfee which I am currently running. Just a couple of months ago I went wireless and I would like to add another firewall. Any ideas? Melbo I think we had this discussion already, but being as how I have slept since then I can't remember the site you sent me to.

    sorry E.L.

Your Router is at 192.168.1.1 Just type that into the address bar. You will see the router setup screen. I think we saw that you had already created a password. IIRC, the default settings are user=[leave blank], pass=admin

You can return your router back to default and start over by holding in the reset button for like 10 seconds or longer. Linksys EasyConnect here also has a great auto router configurer on thier site.

I choose the WEP encrypted closed access. I know your's is open because I used it that weekend.

As a further precaution against WarDrivers, (although I am one), I named my SSID, (Network), Virus Transfer....

So anyone who could get past the encryption would be greeting with

"Would you like to join Virus Transfer..."

I use the MAC addresses of the NIC cards of the PC's that are allowed onto the wireless network with WPA security enabled. It only allows those that you enter and it's hard to hack.
