Work Sharp Guided Field Sharpener Got my hands on one and played with it. Like the Benchmade Bugout, I likey this one too. Low tech and easy to use. Pretty fast and works well. So it was time to touch up my kitchen knives, so I used the Work Sharp on them. Got them razor sharp very quickly. Not as quickly as my long steel and ceramic rods. But faster than Japanese water stones. Sharpness, like the speed is also between the two. Slightly sharper than with the rods but a little bit sharper. All in all, good stuff. Since it is all in one, less stuff to lug. Although hiking, it would still be the Fallkniven DC4 with a few nails in the pouch. For a base camp, this would work well. They should make a larger, longer version for home use when you do not want to use the belt sharpener.
They charged the leather strop very very lightly with green compound. Just enough to tell it was green. But I would say a good deal.
I have several of them spread about the place and they are certainly a worthwhile tool. I can do much better with my other gear but they all lack the convenience of the field sharpener.
