Sobering for a Sunday - thanks for posting. My grandfather was a soldier in France, serving in the 20th Forestry Engineers, making planks for trenches, buildings and firewood for cook. He would talk very little about his time in France. Oddly he and dad, a vet of both WWII and Korea, had one thing in common - their distaste for politicians.
