And House members approved an amendment Friday by state Rep. Kermit Brown, R-Laramie, to have the task force also examine conditions under which Wyoming would need to implement its own military draft, raise a standing army, and acquire strike aircraft and an aircraft carrier. So, just what lake will this landlocked state float that puppy in? Hope they look into the operating cost of those birdfarms, even docked and empty they ring up a pretty penny per day...... As to State defense, more power to them! They'll need to make sure the Feds can't drain off all their National Guard assets too.
Wyoming is a bueatiful place in the summer never been there in the winter, not much population to draft a army from.
Not many there as compared to say, Commiefornia, but, they make thier own guns and gotta be some pretty salty individuals to live through the winters.. Me, I always left at the first snowfalls in oct/nov... Is a pretty place in summer, for the whole 2 months that they can claim one.. ccc
I remember deer hunting in Utah my dad and uncle had 100$ bet that my uncle couldnt hit a beer can on to of a fence post that was at least 150yds away. My uncle bearly lifted the gun, pulled the trigger but the can never moved. My dad smiled and said pay up, uncle said not so fast I think I hit it, so we walked to the fence post and the can had a hole through it dead center. My great Grandfather was over 90 years old and running cattle from South Dakota to Arizona, he took a reduced rate pay because of his age. Those fellers are 100 times the man I am.
I Keep telling the wife that Wyoming is my 5 year plan. What are the best locations for jobs in Banking/Business and a life in the Burbs/Rural
Things may have (probably have) changed since I lived in Rock Springs in the 70s. Cheyenne, Casper, and (to a lesser extent) Rock Springs or Green River might have some banking opportunities. All of them aren't big enough that you can't be rural if you want. Seemed to me when I was there, you had urban or you had rural; suburbs didn't exist. You went from walking distance to "city" center to ranch land in a quarter mile. Nearest of potential banking hot spots are around the Denver area and Salt Lake City. The whole state of WY is a long way from anywhere else that could be considered a banking hot spot.
One of the BEST places in Wyoming is Jackson, as in Jackson's Hole... Lot of Winter Business, in the Ski Resorts, and lots of Summer Business in Touristoe Biz... Makes for a commercially viable economy. then there is the Cattle Biz, and even a bit of Logging. Very Stable, economy.... ..... YMMV....
In the 90's, the little town of Bill, Wy was up for sale - population at that time - ONE. He did the mail reception and delivery for the local ranches.
especially since it is chuggin along. One of these days I'm going to visit Jellystone and see Yogi Bear.
