Thanks for coming down and helping those people out!

 

Lot of Texans owe their lives to the volunteers with the Cajun Navy. They were out there pulling people off rooftops before the govt groups had even started making plans to make plans. I got some stories, will post an accounting when I finally get home. Truck in shop atm, kids slammed into me, but soon as its running again I heading back down to retrieve some gear that got left behind, hopefully with a bed full of bottled water and bug spray to drop off. Mosquitoes starting to look like the Alaskan skeeters.

 

My favorite place. It is a small lake that does not allow motor boats. A perfect place to kayak or walk on the paths. It is the place that I think of when I feel overwhelmed.

 

My sausage for this winter is aging nicely.

Those are carpet tack strips on the feeder legs to keep the coons from climbing up and spinning the feeder. I don't eat coon so I don't feed coon.

 

Arrived today.....after a little over 2 years...!

I've been covering my Poinsettia from 5 PM to 8 AM for three days, and it's already showing some color in the top leaves.

 

Impressive. I have never been able to get a poinsettia to show its colors again. I tried putting in a closet for a month. All I got was a green plant.

 

Lovely cloud this morning. Looks like a spaceship.

My neighbor and I have agreed not to shoot him this year hoping he passes on his genes and improves the local population. He was running with three does when this picture was taken looking at me and my son setting on the porch 150 yards away. Love is in the air and he is being very foolish.
