When you decide to paint your landing and you forget you left a Great Dane upstairs........

Mrs Dart took on this project, but forgot to ensure all the dogs were downstairs.....of course, Lola, our biggest Dane was upstairs sleeping....... I could hear the howling from the backyard when she realized Lola was on the other side of her barrier, she had put up to protect the work.

All kind of blooms with different colored pollens available for my bees right now. They are returning covered in the stuff. Yesterday, during spring hive checks. Soon it will all be golden honey.

@Cruisin Sloth My neighbor and I partnered on the bees. Purchased hives (2 frames each) with bees for $150 each. She had watched her grandfather work bees as a child. Equiptment is cheap except extractor which was about $300 but optional. We should get about 50 pounds of honey this (2nd) year, twice. 100# @$6 a pound so the math works. A lot of honey from overseas is not pure, diluted with syrup. Bee people seem to love the hobby and are willing to sell hives, help and advise so, find you one.

It's that time again. Late this year due to the rain. 20-180 foot rows to plant. I'm planting starches and protein; potatoes, corn, beans and peas. No bunny food. Turnips and beets in the fall for me and the deer. There was a poor acorn crop (mast) last fall so the deer got most of the fall crop. They were eating the turnips not just the greens. They were hungry.

The Falkirk Wheel is a rather interesting item from an engineering standpoint rather than architectural or art. I don't know if the Kelpies are nearby or not tho' related by canals.

Had a confused tom around today. He was love struck and got a little excited about our guinea hens. Went through a 12"x12" opening into a fenced in area outside the chicken/guinea pen. Only problem was he was inside and the hens were outside, thinking with the wrong head??? He eventually got his S together and left.
