That was the last of the Rhinegold available here. I got the word from the distributor that he was discontinuing it, and bought up all I could find. It was less than $2 for a six pack of bottles. I think I still have some in a closet.

 

Good deal,,,less than 2 bucks a 6 pack is early 70s beer prices. Talk about a time warp.

 

Hamm's was $2.00 a six pack at the PX in 1982, and a pack of Lucky Strikes was fifty cents...until Halloween 1982 when they increased the price by a nickel. I decided I could no longer afford to smoke on 10 Nov 1982. Still have that last Lucky Strike wrapper somewhere.

Cheapest crap 12 can beer in Canada BC is 20 bucks Canadian or 19.50 USD and the smokes are 14 bucks..

 

I've been across the International Bridge from Michigan to Ontario on a bicycle. I seem to remember the traffic going both North and South. You can always vote with your feet.

Funny how small things make memories. Nov '82 , I was fresh out of PI. I didn't smoke then, had already quit before , but started dipping later , a can of Copenhagen was 50 cent at the PX in '83 tho .

 

At my current fate of consumption, that would last me till I am 104 years old...

Took the dogs to visit Fyvie Castle today.

 

I got to take both the clowns home from a visit to town with the ladies. We had a great afternoon, even if the pups wouldn't hold still for pictures. Once they were running in the same direction we covered every trail in the park in record time.

 

Regular veiw on our morning walk with the dogs. They like hanging out in the field along the cliffs. Theres 4 of them total
