Young cat maybe? He wasn't too tall. The deer and hogs have completely left my place this fall. Nothing eating at my feeder in weeks.

 

Sounds like time for a trap or a higher resolution camera... or both.

 

What was really cool about this was I pulled over to let a truck by. Had about 5 seconds to kill and spotted this owl. He was ducking the hard rain. Amazing how he blended in. (One dollar per view please)

 

Blew the pic up for a better look. Can see the rest of the tail now. Yearling cat. Deer but not hogs will leave for a bobcat but hogs get scarce for cougars even younger ones.

 

Two days in a row I got one double yolk egg.

Grandfather Mountain ,,Nice place ,,

 

Grandfather Mountain is a nice place, but that's Chimney Rock. It's about 70 miles further South.

 

And can still get the job done.

 

I stand corrected ,, thank you ,, the one time I was there , I think the winds were about 30-40 miles an hour that day ,, and no way I was going out on that bridge .. If I remember correctly ,, there is a plaque up there that says they have clocked winds up there at up to 170 mph .

Farmers used to use Nitropril and Diesel fuel when I was a kid. Don't know why it isn't done that way anymore.
