Many of you may have seen or known all this but I found it really interesting and helpful, especially the tip to walk by Buildings on City Sidewalks. Of course if you avoid all Cities this won't be applicable to you. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpLiN1TeEtY
@ED GEiN here is an article and video that you should be interested in Full Spectrum Survival: Urban Preparedness - Survive and Thrive - The Daily Coin the video is in the link. I found the article above via this article which is one of the best ones I have read. Bloom where you are planted but also prepare. A blurb from the article: Bloom Where You're Planted: Prepping to Survive Where You Are Right Now - The Organic Prepper Sorry to derail your thread a bit but urbanites can survive they just need to be aware and ready. One thing regarding terrorist attacks- they usually do not happen in the direct city. Usually they happen in suburbia. Allegedly this is because response time is longer in outlying areas.
Thanks Will Read it in a Bit! Just got back from being out for all of an hour here getting lunch and its so humid, just going to vegetate for a few hours. Weird thing is, the temperature is under 85 but it feels like 120! Just took a quick skim. Looks like a very helpful article. How'd you find this? Usually when I google things I give up after the 4th or 5th click cause its not the info I'm seeking but this looks great. I'm going to study it in great detail. Thanks again
That's what summer is like here in Nutlandia. A few years ago I left 80's and humid and went on a business trip to Big Spring, TX where is was 110 in the shade. It felt cooler to me there than here.
@ED GEiN some of us have been posting about urban survival. Go here- Search Tags | Survival Monkey Forums type in urban and three different urban tags will come up. You can see that some of us have been reading and researching on urban survival. Also, this Learning Civilian First Response | Survival Monkey Forums I would advise you check local gun ranges. They have training, not just shooting.
Thanks Will Watch this week too. You have to click the YouTube Symbol to actually view this on YouTube. I was unfortunately in a Government Building (Working as an Auditor not a Fed as one of the good forum members would like people to believe) a few blocks away from one of their intended targets, the Capital Building when 9/11 happened only to then go home around noon time to the smells of the Pentagon explosions less than a mile or so when I then lived! I just picked up my first pointer- do you think it would work keeping invaders out- a Quarantine Sign! Wonder if I should look up some official Quarantine documents/signs online and get it duplicated with applicable location changes.
They may be expecting dead bodies and unclaimed loot. Not sure what would work in your apartment setting other than grouping up with others in the complex. Consider getting additional arms for other living there who otherwise wouldn't consider a gun. Obviously they have to be solid and trustworthy. The life they save could be yours.
Personally I do not believe that quarantine signs would work. What if it is just a month long blackout or SHTF due to a large earthquake. Plus most graduates probably don't know the meaning of the word.
Gray man works best I think and be prepared ahead of time if traveling don't have the map out looking for a street at least have the info on your phone know the main streets and how to get back to your hotel or whatever on foot In most counties your go to the post office to make outgoing calls and such know ahead of time where to find one. Know where the Consulate or Embassy is During the day travel light edc bag or small backpack and don't dress and act like you're a stooge American Don't stand out No hats and such unless you buy it local I generally don't talk to anyone unless I need to or it's a local policeman my 2 cents
HaHa You're Probably right. Reminds me of the old joke about a woman telling a rapist not to rape her because she has a sexually transmitted disease and the rapist replies "That's OK So do I"
