Amongst the things to prepare for if it all goes to hell on MotoMom34 helpful link, www.theorganicprepper.ca/bloom-where-youre-planted-prepping-to-survive-where-you-are-right-now-05212015 is the idea of having stocks of food that do not require heating, cooking and refrigeration.

Anyone with any suggestions on items that would last at least a month?

Here's what I can think of offhand

    Nuts
    Matzah Bread
    Rahman Noodles
    Dried Fruit
    Raisons
    Dates
    Cereal

Home canned fruits, vegetables and meats. You could do commercial canned foods, but I would prefer my own QC.

The Freeze Dried Meals I have require boiling the water so I "called it heating" which Is why I left it out albeit you can still eat it though it won't be as good with hot or cold water. But yes, there are freeze dried fruit that require cold water and I've eaten some without water and they tasted good! Do Ramen noodles require more than water? I never heard of Pernican till now but of I can find it in the Supermarket I'll give it a try! Thanks

Ramen needs to be boiled for like 3 minutes (at least the stuff Ive seen does)

Pemican... wont find that in the store, would have to make your own or possibly find somebody (Maybe able to find online) that makes it.
Meats like spam, tinned corned beef, tinned fish.

Pemmican is jerky ground fine with tallow added back in, fyi. Old school MRE.
Oatmeal (not instant, on your own there) can be eaten raw, or mix equal parts oats and water and it will reconstitute if left to sit.
    Tortillas come to mind.
Ultra high temp milk, if you are into that, and instant pudding can sort of be made without any other input.
    Jello rocks.

Ramin goes stale . do not rely on it's own packaging.
All canned food is good out of the can and needs no added cooking . Ensure and other diet canned foods are good for a long time.
not sure about muscle milk or other powdered supplements though.
Any thing with oils/fats in it is going to go stale, cake mixes and pancake mixes ,
Things like rice and beans need to be stored in air tight vacuum sealed with oxygen absorbers .
I have portioned out all my dry goods, each with O2 absorbers then combined in gallon with an absorber and then in 5 gallon buckets with absorbers.
If for some reason the bucket is compromised the gallon bags are working , if a gallon bag is compromised the pint bags are working.
Vacuum alone is not enough , and though some use nitrogen to evac O2 from packaging if there is a failure, and O2 seeps in all is lost .
The O2 absorbers are cheap insurance .
Powdered drinks like Tang and coco coffee tea and creamers and sugar salt spices .
Crackers are the worst surprisingly .
Honey is probably a number one food for longevity and value .
Vinegar ,in many of the different variations stores well and has several purposes other then food and medicine.
Peppers dried, store well and have uses beyond food.
I should go through my older stores and put things under a microscope to see how they are doing.

My kids used to eat Ramen dry, it was the in thing then the rumor started that Ramen was made from worms. Canned vegetables, soups, beans and fruit are easy and can be thrown at someone if needed. Also barter item. Breakfast cereal is vitamin packed and light weight plus can be eaten dry.

Don't forget your can openers - have several & store them with the food in case you need to leave ex post haste.
You can ad quick cooking oats. They can soak in cold water if needed. Not as tasty as hot, but tastes better than air.

I hate to sound like rain on your thread but think about the question. What in your day to day life can be eaten without heating or cooking and there is your answer. My fear is that if you get into a situation or unfamiliar circumstance and no one is there to give you an answer, you may not be able to provide for yourself and those about whom you care.

Part of living a prepared lifestyle is to allow ourselves to think through problems. If we stand still until an answer to our question arrives on our doorstep or at our feet, we will all be doomed.

I just believe that one should always seek knowledge, no matter if the odds are they will never need it, to help them plan and make future decisions albeit they still might not be right. It's better to know facts than not know them. Food eaten daily is different than food that can be stored and eaten in 30 days without refrigeration, cooking and heating. Example a Salami Sandwich. The salami if not refrigerated for 30 days will not be eatable and the bread will be rotten in 30 days. Ice cream will melt if not refrigerated. Etc.

I guess what I don't understand is that you know that you can't eat that salami if it wasn't refrigerated - why ask for another opinion. I find that many of your questions have fairly self-evident answers if you stop and think about them. A good place to start is in this old thread

Huh? I just asked for a list of food you don't need to cook, refrigerate or heat and you replied about just use what you eat everyday or something like that. I just used Salami as an example of why one can't do that. No one likes my examples or analogies!
