OK I know this is a bit odd, but I think everyone should carry Alka-Seltzer in their EDC kit. The reason being it just works faster than pills. If you get migraines like I do it can be a life saver to think clearly quicker.
I carry both Alka Seltzer and BC powders. Just a few of each. Plus 4 days worth of my normal every day prescriptions, pain relievers, and herbal/vitamin supplements in little tubes that some electrolyte powder the kids used came in. Also some blister packs of immodium and benadryl.
Although Alka-Seltzer may have some beneficial value for providing rapid pain relief, it is not for all, and can actually be harmful for some people. If one is being treated for a medical condition, consult your treating Dr. about its suitability for your particular circumstances. Alka--seltzer does not agree with me. I used to carry Stanback headache powder, made in my hometown and were the bomb! Mostly caffeine and would make you feel charged up even if you didn't have a headache. Good for almost any ache or pain and made you feel human when you had a cold or flu.
