Obviously, you couldn't use this for much--so, no flames that this isn't a 5000 kw diesel genie that will power your whole house through the next ice age.

It is better to have the knowledge of how to use stuff laying around than not in the years ahead.

Convert a lawn mower into a generator!

Looks like it would do well to top off a solar array bank when the sun hasn't been shining much. Or just enough to keep a pump running, or a freezer or two.

Any port in a storm. Bud and I are wanting to build a solar panel trailer heavy enough to be a BO carrier plus batteries plus the panels. It can be used at home but by being mounted is plenty to use in the field. An auxiliary power supply is just what the doc ordered.

I'd start with a covered car trailer, like what racers use. heavy-duty enough for all the batteries and panels, lots of surface area, and boxes, lockable, and made with mounts on the front tongue for a generator. And your BOV can be stored inside it.

Thanks Kellory, Have two drop axles from under a travel trailer and plenty of angle iron. Figure the utility boxes can be mounted on each side and will leave room in the middle for storage/battery bank.

Check the wheel bearing ratings. Travel trailers are not very heavy.

Will do, thanks gents. Also have a set of much heavier tandems that carried a big air compressor. Will check out those ratings on the smaller set. Am looking for a construction type trailer to house "disaster relief" tools. We take off occasionally to rebuild things. Want to model mine like another bud's. He can live in his complete with a hot water heater for showers. Sometimes we do not have sleeping accommodations in disaster areas so comfortable safe sleeping quarters would be nice.

Sorry, didn't realize it was a scratch build.

No "problemo"--lol. He already has his home off grid so will be using his knowledge/skills on the PV stuff. We will probably do some horse trading along the way. Think it will be a nice asset to BO gear---and home usage. Will be adding a PV panel to our wee RV shortly. It will not power it but will help a lot.
