Bulk propane

Looks like the best time to buy propane around early august to early September and the worst time is the start or end of the year. Especially the first part of the year when everyone runs out.

 

Hey looks like the propane inventory is near a 5 year low for this time of year. Not good.

I called local companies yesterday. Prices ranged from 1.99 to 3.09/gal. My neighbor buys from the 3.09/gal bunch (Blossman) for 1.85/gal, but for some reason, I've never been able to get a decent price out of them.

 

Now is the time to buy.

Topped-off the propane tank recently, $1.89 per gal. plus taxes and fees. This is mostly for emergency heat (couple of vent-free heaters and gas fire logs in the fireplace). We now have NG for our primary heat, with electricity, propane and wood for back-up. We are NOT gonna freeze at least!
