Nearly half of miners now free in Chile rescue - CenturyLink™ Ah right! The guys are being brought up in the custom-made rescue capsule. Should be a very interesting story - I'm hoping for a book or maybe a movie on it. I figure one of the toughest things for them was the interminable waiting. The heat and humidity was rough too! Their President was even there to greet each man as he emerged - could we expect as much if it were here...?
Thank Goodness they did NOT allow the US Gubmint to 'take over' and run the show........ They'd have only dead bodies to show for it. Seems a few of these guys had their wives AND mistresses show up - both wanting their share of the government's support money! Hehehe..... maybe a few guys wish they were back in the hole...?
From what I heard they don't have a job with the mine company to come back to. I think they filed for bankruptcy not long after the disaster.
