i have the worst time with shoes... my feet are always hot these days

The most important thing I learned in Cold weather training in Folgaria, Italy was that I wasn’t dying. I was just gawdawful miserable. As long as you are awake and not full of goofy assed ideas like taking your clothes off you’re gonna live. Embrace the Suck and Drive On.

After that training I wandered all over the Alps with layers of quality normal civilian winter clothing recreationally. A few times I hiked through the woods several clicks to drink beer/eat goulash and get out of the house in -40.

I had the Mickey Mouse boots with the air valve. That’s the only kind I ever saw.
