Haven't read it yet, no time to outwait the download tonight. However, take a peek at this month's National Geographic. Inuit seem to ignore the wisdom of layering, they go for single (or two) layers, or so I get from the article.
Besides the weapon part, the clothing section could be streamlined a bit more. Being an Army guy, I am already accustomed to the sometimes long and drawn out way the military likes to order its principles. I think that a slightly shortened version of the clothing prep could be easily arranged. Just my input. Besides that, it's superb, as is to be expected from the US Army.
