Discovery's "The Colony" is Casting for Survivalists in L.A.

Discovery's hit series, "The Colony" is casting for Season 2 in Los Angeles. We are looking for the following types of people:

- Virologist/Bacteriologist
- Someone in the medical field
- Housewife
- Pairs (any two people in some way connected to each other)
- Electronics Engineer
- Mechanical Engineer

"The Colony", deemed a "social experiment", is a groundbreaking, critically acclaimed docu-reality series that explores what would happen to survivors of a suburban American neighborhood left reeling in the wake of major catastrophe. We are casting for resourceful, ambitious, ingenious people who possess the skills required to rebuild a society. All applicants must possess skills such as mechanical, hunting, fishing, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, medical, animal tracking, plant knowledge, etc. (these skills do not necessarily pertain to the housewife)

Well, sounds a bit better than the first year of "Survivor" where they stupidly voted off those with the most actual survival knowlege. But then, it wasn't about 'survival' but about conflict and ratings......

I vote for: Rudy Reyes, and make it a sitcom!
( sorry but this guy is a wack job in my book!)
Now for the making of a "realistic" scenario, why choose or selct those with all the skills necessary?
I'd just go out and pick people from every walk of life, NOT asking what they have expertise in....
That would be interesting to say the least.
But, where would the ratings be in that...right?

We'll see if they devolve into a bunch of 'cool beginner actors' like most of these shows. A couple hunks vying to be Top Dog, a couple cute chicks for eye candy, a minority or two for diversity, an older woman to balance the younger folks. All making alliances and screwing the others for their own gain........
And set in LA - Gucci gear for ALL!

Good reason I stopped watching those silly shows.
