"Grievance Studies"...I feel certain there are even more out there than we will ever know, certainly about climate also but loads about race and gender. We all should be aware of these "Sokal hoaxes" but once they are in a national journal they are taken as proof positive and some that write them aren't simply doing it to show a funny hoax but doing it on purpose.
Of course most scientists have a sense of humour, but whether or not scientists have a sense of humour is not the essential thrust of this thread's posts thus far, but to question the science not approved of by conservative culture wars combatants. The 'science' can't be trusted critique is mostly directed at the 'soft' sciences, but the hard sciences are not immune to that kind of carping criticism either.
