    So it happens!
    The poop hits the fan.
1/4 the worlds population gets creamed while trying to get a phone signal, mostly by now self aware AI uber self driving cars.
Civilizations collapses into rival my lil pony gangs.
Dance off fights are all the rage & Mad Max is considered a documentary.

Assuming your one of the people outside the circle of pony's* etc.. eventually the fact that you have a lot of time on your hands now that you can't get nickelodeon is gonna sink in.
Having plenty of food and toilet paper is of course important but what about things like games & entertainment ? You know stuff to keep you entertained between fighting off the odd pony raid?

So give us your suggestions on fun games that might be worth stocking for TEOTWAYKI (Or just a rainy day...) (also why its a good game, how many people its best suited for & whether its likely to lead to dance off fights if relevant)

*we will assume that if your inside the circle of ponys you will be spending most of your time brushing your hair, applying glitter & prancing.

Is it possible to live without Monopoly and a checker board? How is it not obvious how and why that both are good games?

Tons of board games to choose from. I imagine they should kept, until that time, in vacuum packed packaging. This should help keep their paper board parts from decaying.

Whoops! Was supposed to offer examples. Okay. Here's a list:
    1. Backgammon
    2. Chess
    3. Yahtzee
    4. Mancala
    5. Twister - obviously, for the more agile in the group.
    6. Stratego - one of my all time favorites.
    7. Connect Four
    8. Sorry!
    9. Clue
    10. Power Grid
    11. Battleship
The above listed games are for, oh, 2 to 8 players? I have played them, and others, many times in the past. If I were stuck in some fall out shelter for days, weeks, months on end (with others), they certainly would help me maintain my sanity - what there is of it.

Not much of a gamer-of any sort. Wife likes chess. I am hopelessly hooked on Solitaire. Not to be a wet blanket, but post SHTF I figure between security, growing/gathering food and the gozillon of things that will be required just to stay alive with some degree of comfort we won't have much time for games.

UncleMorgan I like peeling bananas and (occasionally) people.

I love that diabolical, bloodthirsty, merciless little game.
So simple. So cool. So cruel...

    (Hahahahahah! That was a hoot.)

Don't forget that decks of cards will be prime barter goods, not just because they allow someone to play solitaire, but because they are necessary for card sharps and gambling houses to prosper amid the ruins.

People always gamble in times of adversity. Not just in the hope of improving their lot, but for the brief moments of sweet distraction it can provide. Ditto with movies and similar escapist entertainment.

Cribbage never seems to get old. The loser would have to take out the human waste bucket and launch it in the trebuchet while the winner relaxes in the shelter. A Ouija board might be ok too. Only for ages 8 and up though.

    UNO
Dominos and you need domino holders if you have my family because they like to shake the table and topple you domino's
