I've followed the peak oil debate and watched the consumption and production reports. Just listened to the Chris Nelder's interview.
My ? is, what as preppers, do we do with this information?

    Thanks

Very perceptive. Quite a few possible answers, and not all will work for everyone.
-Storage, if you can defend it
-Go with alternatives and "renewables" if you can afford it before you need it
-Do without (Yeah, right. Jeremiah Johnson, none of us are.)
-More likely, cut back on things that consume energy in the form of non-renewables and develop a strategy that uses less so that when there is less, you are prepared for it.

Not a very satisfactory answer, I know. Pretty broad question, tho', and everyone's situation will allow for the same answers.

    What ghrit said.

Energy isn't going to get cheaper, that's for sure. There are all sorts of good ideas here, so look around, particularly in the off-grid living section...

    And welcome, Dunbar!

Excellent quote. My aim is to get rid of discontent up here on the hill, and I think most of us are paddling that canoe.
