So glad that Helene when a little bit to the east of the original projected path (it was supposed to come up the Alabama-Georgia line) otherwise we would have been in that watery hell! THERE BUT FOR THE GRACE OF GOD! I'm also, praying for those folks that are suffering through this SHTF situation in the path of Helene, and will contribute food, money, etc. toward the recovery effort. Those folks are gonna spent many years, maybe lifetimes or generations, trying to recover from this! The sad thing is that before the end of the year they will have been forgotten.

Boss said Chinooks are up there since he went up Tuesday, and also FEMA is on the ground along with the National Forest Service and cutting a road to the tower site so the generator can be refueled. Apparently a lot of comms on the tower other than just the TV station. He was told a lot of areas getting power but some may be a month or more.
I was listening to the Mt. Mitchell repeater on Broadcastify. There is a LOT of misinformation being given out by the state about road closures and such.
