New clip-on Thermal Weapon Sight offers more accurate targeting This would be a nice addition to your AR!!
Don't know so much about new, but Sportsmans Guide has been selling all sorts of NODs for some time to include Thermal Imaging. Price for the latter is pretty steep at $5000 to $12,000 a pop. . Night Visions Scopes & Rifle Scope Products At Sportsman's Guide
Yeah, not Raytheon. It's kinda cool, and Raytheon is serious hardware. I seriously doubt it will ever see civilian market, but even if it does somehow, it will be very, very expensive. Plus, it's added weight and I seriously doubt thermals work well with any modern sight. We just popped our sights off and used the thermals alone for spotting, even though they can be used as targeting scopes, too. Run through batteries quick. The new Pas-13c (version 3) series worked well. They can be fit on standard rifles, and come in various sizes for larger crew served weps, too.
I use thermals all the time and, while they keep me warm, I don't glow like the guy in the 1st picture.
Well, when SHTF I am going to keep my open for one that happens to be laying on the ground and scoop it up.
