Plus a 3/4 approval of the State Houses......only 1 amendment has ever been repealed (18th). They would have to subvert this whole process (i.e. Constitutional Convention) to get what they want. There is your Civil War

All politics are local politic!! Every individual in their own county or parish, city or village and State, has to consider who is the best person to vote for and cast that vote..

Consider, the federal mess that presumes to rule over us all as if we where it's serf's, was in fact, created by the States and can be dissolved by the States! Local politics..

In order for any changes to the constitution to become legal after congress pass's off on it, it must be ratified by the legislatures of 2/3 of the States.. Again, local politics..

It is my thoughts that they will continue to preach their hipe, passing legislation that will attempt to pick away at the 2nd and spew their propaganda influencing the clueless until the 2nd is hollow and they win through attrition.

Way too many democrats in office! It's not about the gun it's about control.

A 2/3 majority in Congress AND ratification by 3/4s of State legislatures. There may or may not be a time limit- the so-called "Equal Rights" amendment FAILED because the clock ran out of time for ratification by the States. The 27th amendment regarding pay raises for Congress was ratified after 200+ years waiting in the wings, because it had no time limit for ratification...

So,Since there was apparently 1.2 million or better guns lost in boating accidents off the coast of New Zealand

and when they wash up on the shores of Australia will they be confiscated or turned in?

    Chello?

Interesting hypothetical....probably about the same number that washed up on NZ shores when the Conservative Howard government instituted the Liberal/National Party gun buy back scheme. When it suits them, Australian conservatives will steal progressive policies from the 'socialist,' red raggers here.

Politicians are all about power, guns have nothing to do with it (as long as they are the ones with the guns), but control certainly does. Very few politicians are worth their weight is spit but then again I might be a tad jaundiced.

Some would do it by defanging the 2nd Amendment, others by defanging the 1st. Donald finds it politically easier to do the latter.

    The TAPS Act: https://babin.house.gov/uploadedfiles/hr_838_bill_text.pdf

Twenty three pages and $25,000,000+ per year "To develop a national strategy to prevent targeted violence through behavioral threat assessment and management, and for other purposes."

Oh, it gets better. They want to put out ... "contracts with public agencies or private entities with expertise in behavioral threat assessment and management..." Does that sound like Blackwater to anybody else? I'm sure they'd find plenty of old men who "knew stuff" that they found threatening.

Then what? Sounds like the bill has an appropriate name.
