In survival do we need computer related skills?

As far as opening locked electronic devices goes I believe an understanding of the relay that a keypad or card scanner orwhatever is better than "hacking". Maybe we should all have a McGyver carry kit. Something like a swiss army knife, stick of gum, rubber band, small roll of ducktape, and a paper clip.
