Bottom Line : At night many things can get closer to your tree than in daylight. Should a critter with a simple molotov cocktail get close enough to your tree, well it's sure going to be an entertaining evening. JMO.

If it is only a sleeping location I am not understanding the point. Would you have a cabin/house/whatever somewhere else with your supplies, water, etc? If so, why would you invest the time and resources to sleep in a tree? Why would you leave your ground shelter and supplies unattended in order to sleep elsewhere? Fun to do? Sure. But that's really the only reason I can think of for doing so.

I think in a situation like this, it would be good to have a zip line for escape. You should also practice defending yourself while on the zip line.

If you can get a Douglas Fir to catch fire like that it the rain forest, you're magic. Lol.

I'm not planning on revealing all the particulars. Let's just say I've got a solid plan. :D

If magic is required, try "Willie Pete". But either you underestimate the ability of a well constructed molotov cocktail, or overestimate the combustion temperature of a Douglas Fir. JMHO.

Sorry but that's laughable. First you have to find me amongst tens of thousands of Douglas Firs. Next you throw a Molotov Cocktail to burn me out and all my stuff. What good did that do? You hate me that much? Lol. Classic. :D

Just how many of those tens of thousands of soaking wet Douglas Firs are going to have a human IR profile up in them? LOL Classic.

I'm guessing you're not too familiar with the area I'm discussing. You can't drive to it. Lol. Good enough. I appreciate the hits though. Classic. :D

Then what was the point of ever posting anything at all? If all you are going to say is 'I am going to have a tree shelter and I have everything worked out' and not provide any meaningful response to any questions, comments or criticisms or even share your successes or failures then there was absolutely no reason to ever say anything at all. So, go build your tree fort and perhaps stay there.

^"All" the particulars. Thanks for the hit. Never said a fort either btw. :D

In a normal house you can't get shot through the floor. IMO the key to a tree dwelling is to be completely concealed. A big advantage is you can see a long ways off.

Not at all. Just different. With rope blocks and rigging it's actually quite simple to restock. :D

Perhaps you should re-watch Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, or Star Wars Episode 6. Bad things have been known to happen to folks stuck in trees. +1 more
