Not sure if I mentioned it much, but we have been looking for a new AO for sometime.
Finally we have located what works for us and by the end of next month, we are moving down the road. I am working on many plans and we are driving forward. Our current house sold yesterday and we occupy the next place in about 3 weeks. This will allow us to truly create a homestead with survival in mind. Essentially we have already 80% of plans in place, the rest we will live in and decide how to change the layout..... :)

Forgive me for my absenteeism... I have been a bit busy. :)
The next adventure gives us 8 acres of projects...

Nice to have a bit of elbow room and separation from neighbors.
Moving into new places is always interesting, stimulates the thought processes and creativity as well.

Good start, YD. Now the fun is over and the work starts. That 20% to get done will take 100% of your time.

Best of luck. Save some time for beers.

Looking to add in animals probably in the spring.... there is no pond, which is fine. If there was a pond, they would declare it wetlands and put many restrictions in place.......minimizing its use.

Very rural..... all of the land is flat and about 5 acres is cleared, the other 3 acres are wooded.
There are three lakes within 10 minutes....... ;)

That was how I spent the majority of my teenage years on the East Coast near New Jersey.

Mow the grass, it would take two days with a push mower on my parent's 3/4 acre lot. By the time those two days were over, it was time to go back to the beginning point and start again because the grass was 6 inches tall already.

Knew there was a reason for moving to the desert.

And when I saw the Pix , it's the first thing that came to mind FOOD for our FOOD !!
Birds , lamb , Goat are to clean black thorns etc. then meat for dogs .

Nice find. LEARN to go Garage sales and Craiglist for electric golf carts to tractors etc. Your a Sparky & tradesman
You'll know . Walking as aging build towards those days , I did . Keep in mind were getting less strong and need tractors & items. I bought myself a Genie Man lift .

Once your BROKEn you can't live like that ,as we once did .
Look at TN ANDY , Same as I .. We wet coasters need Drainage , coverage etc.
Build well for age YD , You will do fine .
    Sloth !
    Great Move
