yeah, I know - fire ants - right?

A new invasive species thanks to our friends in 'asia'

Asian giant hornets nest in the ground. They are typically dormant over the winter, and are most often seen from July through October.

Like Killer Bees, too many stings can be fatal.

  3. I don't usually subscribe to conspiracy theories, (here comes the but) Emerald ash borer, Asian long horn beetle, now murder hornets. Not to mention Covid 19. Does this look deliberate? First thought is Chinese, would Islamic planners use these tactics?

Maybe not deliberate, but certainly a side-effect of so much trade with China

Once is statistics, twice is coincidence, 3 times is enemy action.
How may more times before it's not an accident?

Well, We already have these Killer bees here, both the Asian giant, and the African killer honey bee. we also have the Asian earth worms here which I found to be most excellent fishing worms! We call them our Racing Worms, they are damn hard to catch, and are especially nasty when you cut one into smaller pieces to bait a hook, they really fight good!

ditch witch I do stupid crap, so you don't have to

I'd like to order some murder hornets for my next door neighbors. Their kids are outside screaming all day long anyway. Might as well give them a legit reason for it.

I had these here in East Tennessee in the spring of 2017. I had set up a top bar hive I had built a few days before and was just checking a day before I added my bees to it. There was one of these Asian hornets in there and in the process of building a wasp nest. There was a lot of flaying and screaming as it flew up and dive bombed me twice as I frantically tried to drive it away. It was huge and later I looked online until I found out what it was. It came back the next day, but I was armored up and had a swatter and ran it off again. A few days later I was digging holes for tomatoes and found some similar sized and marked hornets in the ground. Of course nobody believes my story, and I don't have a diploma hanging on my wall, so...
