Need help finding a book

I am looking for the title and/or author of a book I read. I believe it was posted on here and maybe even written by one of our members.
Description:
The story is of a man and wife post collapse. The wife is wanted do to political activities. They live in a neighborhood but have a secret room under their home. I know the man keeps up appearances that his is living alone, hungry and without supplies.

I know this book was part of a series or a work in progress. If anyone is familiar with this story, I would appreciate info. I never finished and am wondering what happened. Thank you
