Have heard some rumblings about survival minded, preparedness conscious individuals being labeled terrorists and not allowed to fly. Anyone have first hand experience with this? Please post here if so.
I flew a few months ago. Had no problems at all. I did not look like anyone out of the ordinary either though .
I suspect that if one keeps their OPSec valid, this will not be much of an issue. Just returned from a 17 day Roadtrip down to the FlatLands, and TSA, was only interested in why my 30 year old Briefcase, that kept setting off the chemical sniffer. Had to explain two of my previous Lifetimes Occupations..... One for all the radio gear, and one for the Sniffer Response. I always get there early, because these things happen.... ..... YMMV.....
I would have just ripped a huge fart and then asked them if they were interested in what I ate for lunch. *edit*: This is another reason I do not fly. I am not socially in tune with Gestapo clones.
I have not had any issues. I am also in the federal system as a frequent flyer and I usually am sent through the TSA speed pass lane where you don't have to do anything but walk through a metal detector with all your stuff in your pockets and shoes on and you don't have to take your laptop out of your bag. Clyde
I fly often in and out of different counties (often into one and out of another) I never have any problems. But my checked bags ALWAYS get searched. I keep all my TSA notes in my suitcase right on top...so they can see you always search, you never find anything. 2010 I had my checked bags searched 27 times out of 49 flights..I found it funny, yet sad.
Have to "bite the bullet" next spring and fly after swearing never to do it again. Fly to kali, drive to Wash., cruise to Alaska, and fly back to God's country--NC--lol. Evil, have a bud like you who stays in the air nearly daily. Just not my "cup of tea".
be ready to be pissed off to no end.... the whole TSA system is jacked. I just make sure I have nothing to cause suspicion. no metal at all on my clothes, no pepper spray, no knifes (make SURE you hide them well in your checked bag if you bring them because the freaking baggage handlers are thieves) nothing giving them a reason to search me more...because that's when I get annoyed and mouthy... LOL
Flew back from Denver with my scouts and had badges/metal all over. They finally gave up and passed me through w/o strip searching. Do they actually grope the ladies? Will be taking a few arms but have been told to double box them so the thieves do not get suspicious. Where do you hail from "evil"? Do any shooting?
only had my a$$ rubbed once, but my husband has gotten a search so thorough he asked the guy to dinner when he was done... (TSA agent didn't find it funny) I am up in the hills of Northern CA. I don't do enough shooting any more. We use to own an indoor shooting range so I got to shoot all the time but in recent years definitely not enough.
Will be visiting a friend in the Siskimon mts on the way through. They live about six miles up a one way dirt road--should be interesting to meet them FTF--lol. Been talking probably 10 yrs.
LOL, Thanks Kellory. Bound to be some "pull overs" along the way or at least I hope there is. Have had to back up before.
