Picked up 1947, 1963 & 1974 Ball Blue books on home canning at a used book store in nice shape to go along with my current copy. Original price was-1947 $0.10, 1963 $0.35 and 1974 $1.00. I don't know how much difference there will be but it may be nice to have a vintage perspective on canning. With a few notes neatly added on note cards.
Actually, Site supporters got a copy of the Ball Canning guide in PDF format along with hundreds of other titles on the Annual DVD that I create as a personal thank you for becoming a site supporter.
Yeah, well that DVD accidentally met with a cup of coffee. I never got to enjoy the whole thing. Did I ever mention I am an extreme klutz?
PM me your mailing address, i'll send you another. As I delete the message once I've written the address on the package.
I was brought here by the wonderful google. I saw that if you are a site supporter you can get the ball canning guide as a .pdf. I'm having a hard time finding the older versions of this book that actually had content and pressure canning recipes that we grew up knowing and loving. What level of site support is needed to get the .pdf for the book and is it an older copy?
No Site Support, needed, Welcome to the Monkey Tree... Pick yourself out a branch and have a good look around... Lots of Great info to be had around here, and plenty of Regular Folks, with large Knowledge Bases to share... Feel free to search the Posts, Archives, and Blogs... They are there for you as a New Monkey....
I just picked up a 1999 copy of ball book of canning, freezing and dehydrating for 35 cents and it has the one recipe I have been searching for---canning summer squash
I bought a Blue Ball canning kit a few months ago, for A$20, recipe book included, at a thrift shop. It was a good find at a good price, I thought.
**sigh** Unfortunately, the last of our local used book stores went out of business, a few years ago! Now my only source, for used books, is what comes into the Goodwill store (pretty slim pickin's), or online.
