If this is peak oil, nearly a decade now since Deffeyes declared it for Thanksgiving Day, 2005, then I don't know what to say except quote Oliver Twist....

    "Please sir...I want some more..?"

As oil prices plunge, wide-ranging effects for consumers and the global economy - The Washington Post

Remember when peak oil was all about ever increasing prices, inflation, and the draft? Maybe next peak oil, for those who have forgotten the others, or those who don't even know the size of oil fields scattered around the globe.

I've been watching my favorite station and it might be worth waiting a bit yet...prices have been moving done a dime at a time, this peak oil thing might cause even lower prices yet in the near future.

I'm just concerned when Russia can no longer support their middle class through their subsidies and programs that their oil revenue paid for.

    Just a thought.

    Nothing new there.

The US helped keep the russian people in bondage by selling food cheaply to russia.

    They are not soft.
They can grow their own food, have their own oil/nat gas and can still build a rocket or computer from the ground up without any foreign parts.
    America cannot.

Best check the facts and I guess you are too young to have seen the food lines in the 60s, in Russia. US food was sold cheaply for the city russians.

In the 60's 'merica was the breadbasket of the world.
You grew surplus high quality food and actually manufactured surplus high quality "stuff".
    This isn't the 60's.
The Russians are more self-sufficient than 'merica by far....and neighbors to China.

Them and every other country that depends heavily on oil prices and hasn't been preparing for the day that peak oil crashed prices. It is a bit counter intuitive, peak oil causing this level of pullback, it tooks years after the 1979 global peak oil for oil prices to fully collapse.
