To identify the poisonous pill among the 8 pills using a balance scale only twice, follow these steps: Divide the Pills: Split the 8 pills into three groups: two groups of 3 pills each (let's call them Group A and Group B) and one group with the remaining 2 pills (Group C). First Weighing: Weigh Group A (3 pills) against Group B (3 pills). - Case 1: If the scale balances, then the heavier pill must be in Group C (the 2 pills). - Case 2: If the scale tips (one side is heavier), the heavier side contains the poisonous pill. Second Weighing: - If Case 1 (Group C has the heavier pill): Weigh the 2 pills in Group C against each other. The heavier one is the poisonous pill. - If Case 2 (let’s assume Group A is heavier): Take the 3 pills from the heavier group (Group A) and weigh any 2 of them against each other. If one is heavier, that is the poisonous pill. If they balance, then the third pill (not on the scale) is the poisonous one. Using this method, you can effectively determine the poisonous pill in just two weighings.
My phone has a hard life. It lives in a humid, dirty, dusty environment and gets crud build up in the charger port. I don't notice it until the charger cord doesn't snap into place like it should. It still charges, so I just push it a little harder each time. Pretty soon I've forgotten how it used to snap in when it was properly seated, so the crud just continues to get compressed into the corners of the port. Mine is a recessed USB C charger, and I know when it's clean I should be able to see a shiny surface at the bottom, all the way around. Go ahead, have a look at yours. I'll wait... It's amazing how much pocket lint, wood chips, and just dirt gets squashed into the corners of this tiny port. You can't go digging in there with a paper clip. That might damage the phone. The solution I found is something I have around all the time anyway. The Doctor's Brush Picks. The pointy end is ideal for picking the debris out of the charger port and around all the switches and lenses without scratching anything. They'll also help you keep the teeth you were born with. Only floss the ones you want to keep.
Good info. I've got the same problem going on now,, the charging cord doesn't snap in like said. I thought my phone was just getting wore out, which probably is a partial problem. Thanks for the tip.

Notice the earthen muffler system. Can't tell if there's a piece of wood floating on top of the water hopper to prevent it sloshing out.
