In essence you are suggesting that we get rid of one set of government dingbats telling us what to do and replacing it with another that is far worse. To wit:

    1. Who gets to decide what is considered "treason?"

    2. Your suggestion of outlawing television is beyond ridiculous. Taking your point to its logical conclusion, we should outlaw anything that did not exist in 1776, including laser printers, bull horns, neon signs, ball point pens, billboards, the telegraph, and the entire internet because all these things were not available to our founding fathers and can be used to exert "mind control". You believe in free speech but only if it does not match someone's random definition of "mind control" and is presented in a medium that is at least 238 years old?

    3. Making technology open source is straight out of the Communist Manifesto. We're all in this for the collective good and everything belongs to everyone, right? Why should anyone bother inventing anything if it's mandatory that the idea be given away for free? I'll just sit on my ass and let someone else invest all the sweat, then I'll come and scoop up the idea for myself after they have done all the real work. By the way, you must really love China because they have been "open sourcing" (coughstealingcough) Western technology for decades.

I sincerely hope you don't intend your idea the way it sounds because, honestly, it is a form of oppression wrapped up in the flag many times worse than the version we have now. I'd rather take my chances with Obama than go along with your plan.

Move to North Korea. They are already doing a lot of what you suggest: Archaic technology, all the executions for treason you can handle, and "no mercy" to anyone who crosses the line (that they get to draw).

This reminds me of the French revolution. Specificly the section known as The Terror". When young firebrands fed their neighbors to the national razor for for sin of being born an aristocract. They died by the tens of thousands. All the while, churches were closed and turned into "temples of man". All because one group felt they would make better rulers than the others. They were at war with england as well. Killing at home. Killing abroad, crops failed.... Their people back home very nearly starved to death.

The idea is not to steal your technology, it is for all government technology to be public. We are not talking about going into peoples homes and I don't know where you got that idea from as Kellory was the only one who suggested it with his debased comments. We are talking about government here and I specifically stated that private people should be secure in their effects. It is already written in the Constitution. This is not reinventing the wheel folks, it is following the Constitution as I've stated over and over:
Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The very word 'secrecy' is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people... - John F. Kennedy at BrainyQuote

Since when is the Constitution too lofty of a utopian goal to be achieved?

Where do you get the idea for equalization? Who said that? ...oh I see you are responding to the words Kellory has again put in my mouth. All of the candycane dreams you are talking about are already in play. I am talking about getting rid of them. Perhaps you should converse with me and ask about something you don't understand instead "reading between the lines".

If you think that the Constitution and Bill of Rights are utopian goals that are too lofty for us to achieve then what are you doing in these forums? Our founding fathers took all of the basis for our country from Aristotle and his treatises and in them the healthy middle class is a result of freedom, not from some entitlement program. Never did I recommend creating any entitlements and oligarchy. WTF?

How can we make it back to the Constitution when it is laid before you and people argue that it is an entitlement and oligarchy and an unachievable utopian society?

    1. Treason is already defined.

    2. Private television owned by people is fine. Public television owned by corporations or run as public mouth pieces for the government would seem to be extremely dangerous. I am talking about reversing what we have now and going back to the way it used to be where men and women were in charge, not fictitious corporations. Corporations used to be illegal. People like Howard Hughes, W.R. Hearst, and William Wrigley have been replaced with fictitious entities. All of our rich historic wealth was created from the freedom and responsibility of men, not boards of directors at corporations who hold no liability or responsibility or incentive to do the right thing.

    3. Maybe if I rephrase this it will be clearer: the government is PUBLIC. They are our representatives. They are between 50-100 years ahead of us (the people they serve) in technology. As public servants they have outlawed private people from owning technology. They will kick your ass and take your stuff if they want it. You however can NOT use any of the technology that they have deemed off limits. I am talking about reversing this, making Yours and My inventions ours to do with as we will and things in the PUBLIC arena free and taught to all.

The key is understanding that when I am writing about restricting the government, I am not talking about restricting the people. Can you see the difference?

I find that once people get into power they seem to change. They start playing games instead of sticking to principals or the power goes to their head and they forget who put them in their position. We have a guy out here that runs the big gun organization. He was a normal guy and seemed to be on the correct track. When RMGO got popular this guy got arrogant and cocky.

DEBASE: : to lower the value or reputation of (someone or something) : to make (someone or something) less respected

You put words in my mouth, post funny little videos that are off subject and insulting, you compare American ways to the French Revolution. This is EXACTLY the definition of debase. You do this to every post I make and it has been going on for years. This is why you are a crepehanger. Never once do you discuss ANY of the points.

I think that Kellory is enjoying the debate more than enloopious. That's a shame because its an interesting debate about two distinct points of view. I don't think Kellory's comments are about you personally enloopious, merely his reaction to your thesis. Relax and enjoy the discussion, present your arguments and let others respond. Have fun defending your position

Please explain how this is not possible or a candycane dream. It seemed to work fine for the first 200 years. To be specific I am talking about respecting the privacy of the people and making the government transparent.

This post is about government and hence ALL government information should be free to all. Eminent Domain already exists. I am talking about getting rid of it and making private information private like it used to be since the founding. Surely you don't have a problem with the first 200 years of freedom?

The middle class is being destroyed due to policy already in play. I am talking about removing the shackles. Take off the chains that are holding everyone back.

All lawyers already have the title of nobility ESQUIRE after their names. 95% of politicians are esquires to the crown of England. This is going on today and has nothing to do with liberal, gravity, weight loss, or banning bans.

When did I ever say that? Are you making this up or can you point to the part where I said that.

Restoring and using the Constitution means everyone is the same? Did you read the same Constitution I did? ...or did you read it at all?

Please explain what this means, what you are talking about. What parts of the methods of the Constitution specifically do you find ugly? Please explain where and how I described anything to kill off money because I have read my post over and over looking for the reference and can't find it.

:lol:Loopy, you don't need my help to look ridiculous. You are a firebrand, always looking to stir up a revolution.
There ARE parallels to the French revolution, and you come across as similar to the republicans as they butchered the loyalists. The republicans were the commoners, and they too were willing to condemn someone because of a title (just as you did).
As for following you around...you are not that interesting. I read EVERYTHING sooner or later. Even the recipes. Following you into battle would be the last thing I would do. I think you are reckless, I don't put words in your mouth, I think beyond the point you stopped thinking. Brave enough, just foolish. I believe you would charge the gates of Hell with a bucket of water, but wouldn't have a plan beyond the first bucket.
If you can't handle an opinion other than your own, you do have an "ignore button". Or, you could forget about your socialist ideal, long enough to figure out how to get there without launching the entire country into another civil war.
Instead of launching into a new slew of banning's the day you take office, try this instead....make all drugs and weapons legal. Treat people as adults responsible for their own choices. And prosecute people ONLY when they have committed a crime, not restrict them so they might not commit a crime, maybe. But Innocent until PROVEN guilty, in full measure.[contract]

I am enjoying this thread more an more..... the socialist ideals of community property vs the constitutional foundation of a free society. I will have to say that I am a purely conservative constitutionalist.... but I enjoy the humor of the socialistic philosophy.... it makes me laugh...ha.

Okay, I lied... I can not understand the ideal of everyone being equal without merit of achievement.... why would we lop the heads off those that have earned money to support those that do not contribute to society.... no sense there in my book..... YMMV.

The United States is already incorporated. It is traded on the stock market. It is a private company and we are already employees. That is why we have employee identification numbers called SSNs. There are two forces at work here, America and the United States. America has been abandoned for the most part and the United States corporation is what does everything we see now. I am suggesting that we revive America with a couple of very small additions. I am not saying that I am going to do it or that there should be a dictator. I am merely pointing out that the opportunity for all of us to step away from the corporation and back into common law is ripe.

I have no desire to rehash the 90s, 70s, and 60s in the least. I am saying that with all of the amazing resources and technology that we have today, if we were to add the freedom established in 1776 back into the mix we could make something truly new, unique, and beyond all of our wildest dreams. People don't see it because they are focused on THEIR stuff and others coming to take it. Most people are so busy squabbling over who gets what scraps that they have missed the bigger picture. They have missed their God given rights to be completely free. We are all more powerful than any government on the planet but we have to know it in order for it to be true. Everything begins and ends in our minds. Winning the hearts and minds is a rule of war.

Many believe that treason is when you betray your rulers and typically that would be correct, however, the chain of command in America goes: under God -> We The People create -> Government -> etc. If the President has sworn fealty to the UN or the Crown then they are guilty of treason. The death penalty for treason was only removed as recently as 1973, albeit not in America, but in England but, in some states you can get the death penalty for killing a single person. A president sends people off to die in a foreign land under the orders of the UN and gets nothing. The government orders the murder of Americans without trial and gets nothing. Why are they exempt from the punishment that fits their crimes and we are not? It is not tyranny, it is applying the law to everyone both high and low.

That was well said @enloopious and I agree in principal. I would suggest that what you said earlier was more the point of contention, and you have divereted your thesis to a more realistic principle to what today's norm's would accept to fix the ills that affect this nation. What that method is to make America the common law abiding nation once again is the tricky thing, that I suspect much blood will be spilled to determine a final "solution".

Titles of Nobility Amendment - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

What was the point of this Amendment? Why would they draft it up and ratify it and print it out and send it to the Library of Congress? You claim to be smarter than them so please illuminate us. There is a surviving copy there still. At the time of the war of 1812 there were 18 states in America and 12 of them ratified it making this Amendment legal with the necessary 2/3 vote. Cmon, turn on your brain buddy. What was it for? Why would they do that?

If I'm not that interesting then why so many elaborate responses? I've traveled through hell and back so wasting words with a witless keyboard jockey is nothing.

I like the last part of your post only there is no need for the word instead. I don't know what voices you are hearing but I've never posted any socialist ideas. I challenge you to show me a quote where I did... or are you just name calling? That is usually the refuge of someone who can't make a valid point.

A good debate allows us to present a thesis, see it attacked, defend it and attack the opposing viewpoint. A "good debate" helps us examine why we hold the opinions that we do, examine their validity and glimmer their flaws. Sometimes our resolve is strengthened and other times, light might be shed upon us through the thoughts of others. I thoroughly enjoy the mental jousting of debate although I admit that I can be a bulldog in defending my own opinions. Parry, thrust, riposte but never draw blood - it spoils the match and ends the debate with one party limping away to heal wounds that never should have been inflicted.

So much for my thoughts on debate. Now my personal thoughts on the subject at hand. I am a strict conservative constitutionalist who absolutely believe that the purpose of government is to do for the citizens what they cannot do for themselves and in truth, if we put our hearts and minds to it, there is very little we cannot do for ourselves. We can form citizen armies to defend ourselves, we can feed and clothe ourselves, we can present the products of our physical and intellectual labor to the community where they will be either accepted or rejected. We can take care of our own. We can learn to swim so that we will not parish when the waters rise.

What is it that you believe is truly important that requires a government to regulate? When the mindset is there, we can be as self regulating as a healthy economy is and enjoy the same prosperity, either financial or emotional, that an open market gives a community.

I want to work hard and then enjoy the products of my labor which my be financial gain or it may be something more basic; the knowledge that I can and do take care of myself. And when the day comes that I no longer can do that, my family (and I count my close friends as family) will provide what I cannot provide for myself, and allow me to contribute what I can when I can and not try to convince me that I no longer have value because I no longer have physical strength. There is grace in living and dying on your own terms.
