Well, I watched it last night and feel it is an improvement, but still has all the stupid stuff as before that everyone here has noted.

I'm interested in seeing how the six presidents thing works out, and how those two kids are going to hang on to the salt mine.

So did anyone else notice on tonights episode that when the girl was going for help and was supposed to be going SE (turning east at the junction) late in the afternoon around sundown, she walked toward the sunset? lol

Yeah, but at that point she still had another right turn to make, and then a left turn.

Their writer needs to do some thinking. First off, they had scoped hunting rifles, and when they saw that truck blocking the road from over 100 yds away, it should have been scoped out instead of driven up to.[dunno] Much easier to shoot them to doll rags from that range then being chased down the road. When the hero was pinned under the truck (should have been mashed flat), he had presence of mind to toss away water bottles and the flash light, but not to have the IRS girl pick up the glock and run with it. What's with that??? Still too many stupid stunts, and only God could save these idiots.

Bet it will be a laugh a minute when they face that M1 Abrams in the next episode.

Where are the dog packs? Too PC to shoot Fido and Fluffy when they're trying to eat you? Come on people!

Time to keep the guns away from Jake LOL .

Last week they go to trade for some parts so they can set up a windmill and they lose all of their guns and this week he is out hunting and loses a bunch more in a roadside ambush deal .

If I was in a situation with a guy like that I think I would tell him it was time to fill his pockets with rocks and go and get back all the guns he has lost !

Old Hawkins needs to at least sit down with his wife and sling her a nice BS story about being some kind of Government agent instead of the old "just trust me" line . Not too many women would put up with some clown just blowing in and out of their lives with no explanation at all like he does . Worst of all he doesn't seem to have made any effort to train her to shoot and defend herself and he has this mountain of trouble headed her way .

Back to the truck, why didn't they jump a spark from the battery to get a fire going ?

I remember them remarking that there were gas fumes about, so no fire.

They didn't start a fire because the gas spilled all around them.

As far as shooting at the truck from 100 yards away, actually they came over a little hill and the truck was right in front of them. Not to mention you don't shoot at a target unless you are sure of what you are shooting at. Who knew what was behind those tinted windows. Maybe nobody, if that was the case they might have a fully operating 4x4 to take home. I was kind of thinking the same thing you were, so I fast forwarded to the scene and then noticed that the big black 4x4 didn't come into view until they were right on top of it. By then the element of surprise was lost and they couldn't just sit back and watch it through scopes. I did agree totally, he should have had the IRS chick take the guns when the saw them coming. Either that or give one to him so he could provide covering fire for her to escape.

All and all, remember this is just a TV series, they have to have all of the plots and twists and silly stuff to keep the sheeople watching and to get good ratings. In am just glad they took the gamble on a program like this.

I agree tis just a show, but the mistakes do provide IMHO good topics for discussion since it brings them to mind and lets us figure out before hand what SHOULD be done.

As far as comeing up on the truck, it would seem to me that the best coarse of action would be to park the truck such that you could get out with it between you nad them and be ready for a fight without provokeing one. The folks of Jerico as I recall have the entrances into their town blocked in a similar manner to prevent raiders and such, what makes it so sure that it wasnt the same type of thing? If they are there to stop trouble then problems can be avoided this way, if they are there (as it appears they were) to ambush people then running is likely to end about as it did or worse.

What struck me when he was trapped under the truck was how little they did to try to free him themselves. The truck was sitting on the cab and front end, 300-400 lbs (the other 2 people) on the back bumper might well have been able to use the cab as a fulcrome and the truck as a lever to lift it off him. If that didnt work then it seems you would try finding a rock and heavy limb/moveable log to use as a lever to raise it off of him.

Well, it looks as if they've not got some small arms and a tank. That was an older Abrams, and had a 105MM riflebore mounted instead of the newer 120MM smoothbore.

I still say they're in deep doodoo if that kid is the best they've got. McRainey does a credible job, and likely controlled much of the script last night. Thought it was a nice touch for "The Old Lion' to be seen walking off alone after he had salvaged the situation.

I thought it was accurate when they noted that no small towns were taking in refugees. I have a friend that claims he will never die for any piece of soil, and is determined to keep mobile. I explained to him many times that this leads only to being an MZB/Freebooter, and ultimately death at the hands of decent people. He refuses to hear.

What a waste of fireworks. Those pyrotechnics could be used in many other ways to include signalling, but were wasted.

Saw the newest one last night, and while it was at least a little more exciting, there is still to much socialist BS going on. Damnation are they weak! And their so-called local bad boy interferred with the LEO's when they wanted to take out the refugee that shot the mayor. What's with that???

I guess they have to play nice for the vewing audience, but I wouldn't have tolerated any of that crap.[soap]

No big loss, the mayor is a d*ckwad anyway. I don't see how he can live through being shot in the stomach with a .357 Magnum as their medical facilities and support are not that good especially now that the red headed Dr. is dead. I wouldn't have used tear gas on them though, there was a more diplomatic way to do things. I do like how they are emphasizing the food situation, it should give more than a few people the notion that they need to be well stocked and well prepared.

What I want to know is in a town in the middle of Kansas which is farming country why are they running out of food ? Those crops would normally be sold off instead they were kept locally . Is Stanly the only farmer in the dang story ?

Why didn't they start setting up green houses as soon as the summer crops came in and plant winter crops ?

Isn't there a single rancher who raises cattle or chickens and or pigs ? How about rabbits ?

What happened to all the game in a situation like they are in it wouldn't suddenly die off or run away . Doesn't anyone own a fishing pole and a farm pond ?

They haven't gone out to the nearest Walmart "which we all know are everywhere in small communities and raided the canned goods .

The writers should have come to websites like this and discussed things before writing a bunch of inaccurate story lines .
