Pretty interesting idea there ,, have never seen one before ,, but have seen some old tools that have been repaired using that method ,, and my Dad had an old pump action 22 rifle that had the stock clamped together with some copper wire years ago .
I've used that tool (or its less fancy predecessor) in wayback times to clamp radiator hoses in the engine house of a car or three. Cheaper in the long haul, but only if you use it a LOT. Didn't take me too long to go back to buying hose clamps. Hose clamps will run a buck or three more than wire, but you don't need 360 degree access to install or tighten.
If you go to it on Youtube you can download plans for the one he uses as well as a simplified version. You can also find them on Amazon from cheap to OMFG expensive, but not near as cool as the one he made. This is a gotta have tool.
You're right DKR. I've never heard of this tool. Looks like one of those things I never knew I needed.
