Sounds like a good idea. Right now we need brake-lines bled and I know it is something semi-simple because I have sat in a truck and pressed the brake pedal once while someone else fixed things. If I buy a fixer-upper, I will probably need some new tools, these won't cut it.

 

Yes, you might need a few more, but never underestimate the ability to give something mechanical a good smack with your hammer Yard has the right idea, buy something you can work on. I've known a number of Ladies that are self taught mechanics that have and do keep their own rigs up to snuff-and this was before you tube. Simply by reading a good Chiltons and asking questions. If you have a place to work its a good idea.
