I've seen my wife butcher about every kind of animal I've hunted and fished for. Ducks, Geese, Pheasant, Squirrel, Rabbit, even frogs and turtles. But I always had my deer processed by a pro (We didn't have the space or tools but now we do). Well today a friend hit a deer, so I went to the Sherrifs dept and got a permit and brought it home to her. I tell ya it was like Iron Chef Morimoto.... Whack! Slice! Chop! [insert hand grinder noise]! A couple hours later I've got a freezer full of neatly packaged and labelled steaks and roasts, plus some ground, a tongue, and a heart. Even after a decade together, she still surprises me sometimes. It's good to know she has the skill if it's ever needed post shtf. She's a fair enough hunter on her own and a serious fisherman, but I'm still better at bringin it home or I might start feeling a little threatened.
